Types of Cults
Let us look for at the different types of religions, as they relate to the One True God.
Atheism:
Atheism is a religion, if the purpose of a religion is to determine a Supreme Being.
Atheists believe humans are the most intelligent creatures on earth. So humans, atheists believe, are god-creatures.
Non-Jesus Cults:
There are religions that claim the existence of a god-being, but their concept of God doesn't include Jesus.
They are false religions.
The Gospel of John, Chapters 1 and 10 are two of many example where Jesus is declared to be part of the Godhead, the Holy Trinity.
Jesus rose from the dead, which was witness by about 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:6). What other religious leader did these things?
Sort-of-Jesus Cults:
There are religions that talk positively about Jesus, but either deny His deity, or they claim that we too can become a god like Jesus did.
These religions are like date-rapists that put their poison in a regular drink.
It tastes fine, but the poison will still do its intended job; to allow a bully to destroy the one who drinks it.
Good Works Cults:
There are many social organizations that genuinely help people.
Some clubs, organizations and fraternal orders, sponsor good works as part of their master plan.
That is good, but... it cannot earn our way into heaven.
No.
Good works add to the credit of the saved person, but good works doesn't save anyone.
Any good we can do, is good we ought to do anyway, and doesn't pay for the sins we have committed.
Only the acquired Blood of Jesus can wash away our sins. Nothing else.
Diseased ex-Churches:
There are churches that used to be genuine God-loving denominations that have putrefied and have become 'Sort-of-Jesus Cults'.
Yes, religious cults.
In order to try to stay 'relevant' to modern people, they eviscerate Holy Doctrine, and they bless evil.
I see in the news that many Methodist Churches are breaking away from the main leadership because its leaning toward the LGB-stuff.
Good for those churches breaking away!
Finally, The True Church:
Imperfect, yet seen by Christ as 'spotless' on that Final Day, when the books are opened, and all give account for themselves.
So, denominations are the natural result of a planet full of people that aren't allowed to see Jesus face-to-face until they die.
